Halyards: Round 4-February 16th @ 7:30

We love live music.

Our Halyards residency continues next Thursday, February 16th, with more great music in the heart of our fair borough featuring bands from all over the nation.  Here's what you have to look forward to:

Our own Josh Margolis will be holding down the drums for LENNY, a collective of musicians from Boston.

Alexis and the Samurai: "Alexis & the Samurai, a 2-man trio".  From the Big Easy to the Big Apple.

Kilcool:

Kilcool is a 3-piece Irish indie rock band with its origins in Dublin and Ballydehob, Ireland, Brooklyn and Woodstock, New York. Featuring Philip Marshall (Those Bleedin’ Tulips, Teenage Mustache, and Antinatal) on lead vocals and guitar, Reuben Maher (The Blam, First Class and Coach, Toulouse, Poka Poka, Teenage Mustache, and Antinatal) on guitar and programming, and Colm O’Leary on bass. Their debut album was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn over a 2-year period from 2014 to 2015, and self-released in 2016. It features special guests including Martha Wainwright, Eamon O’Leary, Kevin Salem, Georgia Marshall, and Jack Petruzzelli, and has been described as Neil Young meets Velvet Underground meets Iggy Pop with some Brian Eno mixed in. Track 9, “The Engineer,” is a tribute to the late, great Kate McGarrigle.

Robert Todd and Tessa Day (part of LENNY)

You won't want to miss this great lineup!  See you next Thursday!

Tomorrow, we kick off our 2017 residency at Halyards.

We've been looking forward to the third installment of our Halyards series since November.  Just like the last two performances, tomorrow features a free, all ages Gowanus Music Clubstudent act at 7:30, followed by bands that include some of our incredibly talented teachers and friends.
